ٱلنَّحْل : ٧٨

  • وَٱللَّهُ And Allah
  • أَخۡرَجَكُم brought you forth
  • مِّنۢ from
  • بُطُونِ the wombs
  • أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ (of) your mothers
  • لَا not
  • تَعۡلَمُونَ knowing
  • شَيۡـٔٗا anything
  • وَجَعَلَ and made
  • لَكُمُ for you
  • ٱلسَّمۡعَ the hearing
  • وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ and the sight
  • وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَ and the hearts
  • لَعَلَّكُمۡ so that you may
  • تَشۡكُرُونَ give thanks
And Allāh has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect] that perhaps you would be grateful.
And God brought you forth from the bellies of your mothers while you did not know anything (the statement [laa ta'lamoona shay'an, 'while you did not know anything'] is a circumstantial qualifier), and He gave you hearing and sight and hearts that perhaps you might give thanks, to Him for this [gift] and become believers.
