ٱلْأَعْرَاف : ١٩٩

  • خُذِ Hold
  • ٱلۡعَفۡوَ (to) forgiveness
  • وَأۡمُرۡ and enjoin
  • بِٱلۡعُرۡفِ the good
  • وَأَعۡرِضۡ and turn away
  • عَنِ from
  • ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ the ignorant
Take what is given freely,1 enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.

1 - From the dispositions of men or from their wealth. In other words, be easy in dealing with them and avoid causing them difficulty.
Indulge [people] with forgiveness, [accepting] what issues spontaneously from people's manners [of behaviour], and do not scrutinise them, and enjoin kindness, decency, and turn away from the ignorant, and do not counter their stupidity with the like.
