Al-Hajj: 36

Ayah

Word by Word
وَٱلۡبُدۡنَ
And the camels and cattle
جَعَلۡنَٰهَا
We have made them
لَكُم
for you
مِّن
among
شَعَٰٓئِرِ
(the) Symbols
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
لَكُمۡ
for you
فِيهَا
therein
خَيۡرٞۖ
(is) good
فَٱذۡكُرُواْ
So mention
ٱسۡمَ
(the) name
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
عَلَيۡهَا
over them
صَوَآفَّۖ
(when) lined up
فَإِذَا
and when
وَجَبَتۡ
are down
جُنُوبُهَا
their sides
فَكُلُواْ
then eat
مِنۡهَا
from them
وَأَطۡعِمُواْ
and feed
ٱلۡقَانِعَ
the needy who do not ask
وَٱلۡمُعۡتَرَّۚ
and the needy who ask
كَذَٰلِكَ
Thus
سَخَّرۡنَٰهَا
We have subjected them
لَكُمۡ
to you
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
be grateful

Translation

The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah: in them is (much) good for you: then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice): when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility: thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful.
