وَإِذۡ قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسۡكُنُواْ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةَ وَكُلُواْ مِنۡهَا حَيۡثُ شِئۡتُمۡ وَقُولُواْ حِطَّةٌ وَٱدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَّغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ خَطِيٓـَٰٔتِكُمۡ ۚ سَنَزِيدُ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
And remember it was said to them: "Dwell in this town and eat therein as ye wish, but say the word of humility and enter the gate in a posture of humility: We shall forgive you your faults; We shall increase (the portion of) those who do good."<br/>
And, mention, when it was said to them, 'Dwell in this city, the Holy House [of Jerusalem], and eat therein wherever you will, and say, 'our concern is for [an], Exoneration,' and enter the gate, that is, the gate of the city, prostrating, a prostration that is [actually] a bow. We shall forgive (read naghfir, or the passive tughfar) you your transgressions; We shall give more to those who are virtuous, through obedience, in terms of reward.
