مَّرۡكُومٞ
heaped up
وَإِن
And if
يَرَوۡاْ
they were to see
كِسۡفٗا
a portion
مِّنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
سَاقِطٗا
falling
يَقُولُواْ
they will say
سَحَابٞ
Clouds
مَّرۡكُومٞ
heaped up

Translation

Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!"

Tafsir

And if they were to see a fragment, a portion, of the sky falling, on them - as they say, Then make fragments of the sky fall upon us [Q. 26:187], as a chastisement for them - they would say, this is: 'A heap of clouds!', piled on top of one another, that will bring us water; and so they do not believe.
