Ayah

Word by Word
وَقَالَ
And Firaun said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
And Firaun said
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O chiefs
ٱلۡمَلَأُ
O chiefs
مَا
Not
عَلِمۡتُ
I know
لَكُم
for you
مِّنۡ
any
إِلَٰهٍ
god
غَيۡرِي
other than me
فَأَوۡقِدۡ
So kindle
لِي
for me
يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ
O Haman
عَلَى
Upon
ٱلطِّينِ
the clay
فَٱجۡعَل
and make
لِّي
for me
صَرۡحٗا
a lofty tower
لَّعَلِّيٓ
so that [I]
أَطَّلِعُ
I may look
إِلَىٰٓ
at
إِلَٰهِ
(the) God
مُوسَىٰ
(of) Musa
وَإِنِّي
And indeed, I
لَأَظُنُّهُۥ
[I] think that he
مِنَ
(is) of
ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
the liars
وَقَالَ
And Firaun said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
And Firaun said
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O chiefs
ٱلۡمَلَأُ
O chiefs
مَا
Not
عَلِمۡتُ
I know
لَكُم
for you
مِّنۡ
any
إِلَٰهٍ
god
غَيۡرِي
other than me
فَأَوۡقِدۡ
So kindle
لِي
for me
يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ
O Haman
عَلَى
Upon
ٱلطِّينِ
the clay
فَٱجۡعَل
and make
لِّي
for me
صَرۡحٗا
a lofty tower
لَّعَلِّيٓ
so that [I]
أَطَّلِعُ
I may look
إِلَىٰٓ
at
إِلَٰهِ
(the) God
مُوسَىٰ
(of) Musa
وَإِنِّي
And indeed, I
لَأَظُنُّهُۥ
[I] think that he
مِنَ
(is) of
ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
the liars

Translation

And Pharaoh said, "O eminent ones, I have not known you to have a god other than me. Then ignite for me, O Hāmān, [a fire] upon the clay1 and make for me a tower that I may look at the God of Moses. And indeed, I do think he is among the liars."

Tafsir

And Pharaoh said, 'O [members of the] council, I do not know of any god for you other than me. So kindle for me, O Haamaan, [a fire] over the clay, and bake for me bricks [of clay], and make me a tower, a lofty palace, that I may take a look at the god of Moses, to observe him and inspect him; for truly I consider him to be a liar', in his claim of [the existence of] some other god and that he is his messenger.
