ٱلنَّمْل : ٥٤

  • وَلُوطًا And Lut
  • إِذۡ when
  • قَالَ he said
  • لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ to his people
  • أَتَأۡتُونَ Do you commit
  • ٱلۡفَٰحِشَةَ [the] immorality
  • وَأَنتُمۡ while you
  • تُبۡصِرُونَ see
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality1 while you are seeing?2

And Lot (Lootan is in the accusative because of an implied udhkur, 'mention', before it, and it [Lootan] is substituted by [the following, idh qaala .]), when he said to his people, 'What! Do you commit [such] abomination, namely, homosexual intercourse, while you watch?, that is to say, while you watch one another, [so] engrossed [are you] in the sinful act?
