ٱلْمُؤْمِنُون : ٤١

  • فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ So seized them
  • ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ the awful cry
  • بِٱلۡحَقِّ in truth
  • فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ and We made them
  • غُثَآءٗۚ (as) rubbish of dead leaves
  • فَبُعۡدٗا So away
  • لِّلۡقَوۡمِ with the people
  • ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ the wrongdoers
So the shriek1 seized them in truth,2 and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people.
Footnotes
1 See footnote to 11:67.
2 i.e., by right or in justice.
So the Cry, the Cry of chastisement and destruction, seized them rightfully, and they died, and We made them as husks (ghuthaa' is desiccated vegetation, in other words, We transformed them into similarly desiccated [worthless] things). So a far removal, from mercy, for the evildoing folk, the denying [folk].
