ٱلْحِجْر : ٨٨

  • لَا (Do) not
  • تَمُدَّنَّ extend
  • عَيۡنَيۡكَ your eyes
  • إِلَىٰ towards
  • مَا what
  • مَتَّعۡنَا We have bestowed
  • بِهِۦٓ with it
  • أَزۡوَٰجٗا (to) categories
  • مِّنۡهُمۡ of them
  • وَلَا and (do) not
  • تَحۡزَنۡ grieve
  • عَلَيۡهِمۡ over them
  • وَٱخۡفِضۡ And lower
  • جَنَاحَكَ your wing
  • لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ to the believers
Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of them [i.e., the disbelievers], and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to the believers.
Do not extend your glance toward that which We have given different groups of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, should they not believe, and lower your wing, temper your nature, for the believers.
