مَّسۡحُورُونَ
bewitched
لَقَالُوٓاْ
They would surely say
إِنَّمَا
Only
سُكِّرَتۡ
have been dazzled
أَبۡصَٰرُنَا
our eyes
بَلۡ
Nay
نَحۡنُ
we
قَوۡمٞ
(are) a people
مَّسۡحُورُونَ
bewitched

Translation

They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery."

Tafsir

they would say, 'It is merely that our eyes have been dazzled, they have been shut. Nay, we are a folk bewitched!', imagining this.
