Translation

"Of no profit will be my counsel to you, much as I desire to give you (good) counsel, if it be that Allah willeth to leave you astray: He is your Lord! and to Him will ye return!"

Tafsir

And my counsel will not benefit you if I desire to counsel you when God desires to keep you astray (the response to the conditional is indicated by wa-laa yanfa'ukum nushee, 'and my counsel will not benefit you'). He is your Lord and to Him you will be brought back'.
