Al-An'am: 157

تَقُولُواْ

لَوۡ
If
أَنَّآ

أُنزِلَ
was revealed
عَلَيۡنَا
to us
ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ
the Book
لَكُنَّآ
surely we (would) have been
أَهۡدَىٰ
better guided
مِنۡهُمۡۚ
than them
فَقَدۡ
So verily
جَآءَكُم
has come to you
بَيِّنَةٞ
clear proofs
مِّن
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
your Lord
وَهُدٗى
and a Guidance
وَرَحۡمَةٞۚ
and a Mercy
فَمَنۡ
Then who
أَظۡلَمُ
(is) more unjust
مِمَّن
than (he) who
كَذَّبَ
denies
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
[with] (the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah
وَصَدَفَ
and turns away
عَنۡهَاۗ
from them
سَنَجۡزِي
We will recompense
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
يَصۡدِفُونَ
turn away
عَنۡ
from
ءَايَٰتِنَا
Our Signs
سُوٓءَ
(with) an evil
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
punishment
بِمَا
because
كَانُواْ
they used to
يَصۡدِفُونَ
turn away

Translation

Or lest ye should say: "If the Book had only been sent down to us, we should have followed its guidance better than they." Now then hath come unto you a clear (sign) from your Lord,- and a guide and a mercy: then who could do more wrong than one who rejecteth Allah's signs, and turneth away therefrom? In good time shall We requite those who turn away from Our signs, with a dreadful penalty, for their turning away.
